Preserved — Terms of Service

Effective date: 3 August 2026
Last updated: 11 September 2026

Preserved is a private place for your family’s recipes. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Preserved app and its services. The short version: your recipes stay yours, subscriptions are handled by Apple and you can cancel anytime, and we ask that you use Preserved lawfully and kindly.

Who we are

Preserved is operated by Preserved AI Pty Ltd (ABN 69 689 791 777), based in Australia. Questions about these terms: support@preservedapp.com.

The agreement

By creating an account or using Preserved, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you downloaded Preserved from the App Store, Apple’s standard App Store terms also apply to your download; Apple is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app or its content.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Preserved.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe — your account holds your family’s recipes. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@preservedapp.com if you believe someone else has accessed it.

Your content

Everything you put into Preserved — recipes, photos and scans, family memories and dedications, cookbook designs, and the profiles of the cooks you add — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.

So that Preserved can work, you give us a limited licence to host, store, back up, process, and display your content — solely to provide the service to you (including the AI features below) and for no other purpose. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems.

You are responsible for the content you add: make sure you have the right to upload the photos and material you save, and don’t upload anything unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights.

Preserved Plus

Preserved Plus is a paid upgrade for additional recipe and cookbook capacity, further artwork generation and nutrition features. Exporting, sharing and printing are available without a Plus subscription. Ordering a physical printed book has a separate price shown at checkout.

  • Subscription billing is handled by Apple. Subscription purchases are charged to your Apple ID; we never see your full payment details.

  • Auto-renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your device’s Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

  • Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, its length and the price after it are shown before you confirm. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription.

  • Lifetime. Where a one-time lifetime purchase is offered, it is a single charge with no renewal.

  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change for future billing periods; Apple will notify you as its terms require.

  • Subscription refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Printed books

A physical printed-book order is separate from your Plus subscription. The checkout shows the book and shipping charges and the total before you confirm. Stripe processes the payment; Lulu prints and delivers the book using the files and delivery details for your order. We receive payment-status information, not your full card details. Contact support@preservedapp.com about a print-order problem or refund. Nothing here limits applicable consumer rights.

AI features

Preserved uses AI services to read and structure recipe scans, generate recipe artwork and cookbook covers, and work out nutrition estimates. AI output can be imperfect — review structured recipes against the original, and treat nutrition figures as estimates only, not medical or dietary advice. If a scan comes out wrong, you can always edit the recipe by hand.

Using Preserved fairly

Please don’t: use Preserved for anything unlawful; upload content that is infringing, harmful, or that you have no right to share; attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service; or resell or scrape it. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms; where reasonable we will warn you first.

Our property

The Preserved app, its design, artwork styles, brand, and software are ours (or our licensors’). We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own family archive. That licence does not extend to the content you create — that is covered under “Your content” and stays yours.

Leaving Preserved

You can export your cookbooks at any time, and delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete Account). Deletion starts a 30-day grace window during which your data is retained and can be restored — email support@preservedapp.com within those 30 days if you change your mind. After the window, your account and content are permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

Preserved is provided with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Keep exports of anything you cannot afford to lose — cherished things deserve more than one copy.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Preserved after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and disputes belong to the courts there. If you live elsewhere, local consumer protections that apply to you are unaffected.
