Help and support
Everything you need to keep your recipes, make your cookbook, and get help when something isn’t quite right.
Email us at support@preservedapp.com. Every message is read by a person on the Preserved team, who will write back to you. You can also write to us from the app: open Profile, tap Help, then Contact Us.
To open Profile, tap your profile picture at the top of Home.

Contact us
Email support@preservedapp.com. It helps if you include:
the email address you use to sign in to Preserved
your iPhone model, its iOS version, and the Preserved version shown at the bottom of Profile
what you were doing and what you saw (a screenshot is very welcome)
for a printed book, the cookbook’s title and the order date from Profile → Print Orders
Please never send us your password. We will never ask for it.
Signing in
Preserved is for iPhone and needs iOS 26 or later.
New to Preserved? Tap Start your cookbook on the first screen. You’ll create your account along the way with Apple, Google or your email address.
Already have an account? On the first screen, tap Already use Preserved? Sign in. Choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, or tap Use email instead and sign in with your email and password. Sign in the same way you did when you created your account.
Verifying your email. If you sign up with email, we’ll send you a verification link. Open the email on your iPhone and tap the link, and you’ll be brought back to Preserved. If you see “Please confirm your email address before signing in”, the link hasn’t been used yet. Can’t find the email? Check your junk or spam folder. If you see “Too many email attempts”, wait a few minutes before trying again.
Forgot your password? On the email sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email and tap Send Reset Link. For your privacy, we show the same message whether or not there’s an account for that address. Open the email on the iPhone where Preserved is installed and tap the link, then choose a new password and tap Save Password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, you don’t have a Preserved password: just use the same button as before.
Changing your email address. For an email account, open Profile → Your Details and tap your email address. Follow the confirmation instructions sent by email to complete the change. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your address is managed by that account.
Using a new iPhone. Your recipes, cookbooks and photos are kept with your Preserved account. Install Preserved on your new iPhone and sign in the same way as before, and they’ll come back to your shelf.
Adding recipes
Tap +, then Add a recipe, and choose how to begin:
Scan a recipe. Photograph a card or page with your camera. Make sure the whole recipe is in the frame and easy to read, then tap Scan This Page.
Choose a photo. Use a picture of a recipe from your photo library.
Upload a file. Choose a PDF, TXT or RTF file with one recipe in it. A PDF can have up to 10 pages, and all of its pages are read as one recipe. Files can be up to 20 MB. For a Word document, save it as a PDF first. If a PDF is password protected, save an unlocked copy and try again.
Write it yourself. Type it in, step by step.
The free plan keeps up to 10 recipes. See Free and Preserved Plus.
Camera access is off? Tap Open Settings and allow camera access for Preserved, or choose a photo instead.
Something didn’t read properly? Tap Try Again, or retake the photo in good, even light with the whole page in view. If Preserved says Full review unavailable, check the recipe carefully before you save, or check your connection and tap Try Again.
Checking a recipe, and your originals
When Preserved has read your recipe, it shows how confident it is and points out anything worth a second look. Tap Review & Edit to check the title, ingredients, quantities, times and steps, and change anything before you save. Handwriting and faded pages deserve a careful look. You can edit a recipe at any time: open it, tap ⋯ (More), then Edit.
Your original stays with your recipe. For a recipe that came from a scan, photo or file, open the recipe, tap ⋯, then Show Original to see the page it was read from. If it doesn’t open straight away, check your connection and tap Try Again; the original stays linked to the recipe. Recipes you type yourself don’t have an original.
Making a cookbook
Tap +, then Create a cookbook. Start a blank cookbook, or start with a selection of your recipes. The free plan includes one cookbook.
Add recipes. Open a recipe, tap ⋯, then Add to Cookbook. Or open the cookbook, tap ⋯, then Edit Recipes.
Make it yours. In the cookbook, tap ⋯, then Edit Cookbook to change its cover colour and cover photo. Upload your own photo, choose one from your Media Library, or try a cover preview (see Free and Preserved Plus).
See it as a book. Tap ⋯, then Preview.
Sharing, PDFs and printing at home
Sharing and exporting are free on every plan.
Share a cookbook as a PDF. Open the cookbook, tap ⋯, then Share. Send the PDF wherever you like, or choose Print to print it at home on an AirPrint printer.
Share a recipe. Open the recipe, tap ⋯, then Share to make a card for Messages, Instagram Stories and more. Choose a shape and a style, and add the recipe’s memory if you like.
Download a recipe. Tap ⋯, then Download for a PDF of the recipe to save, send or print.
Every PDF carries Preserved’s small maker’s mark.
Printed books
Order a printed copy of your cookbook to keep or to give. Printed books are a separate purchase: you don’t need Preserved Plus to order one, and Plus doesn’t include printed copies.
To order, open your cookbook and tap the printer button. Choose who it’s for (your own shelf, or a gift sent straight to someone), then pick your edition, preview every page, add the delivery address and choose shipping. You’ll see the book, shipping and the total before you pay, for example with Apple Pay.
Editions. Softcover and Hardcover have matte covers. Linen is foil-stamped cloth with your cover on a matte dust jacket; you choose the cloth and foil.
At least 32 pages. A printed book needs at least 32 pages, and Preserved adds a Notes page at the back. If your book isn’t long enough yet, Preserved tells you roughly how many more recipes it needs.
Following your order. Open Profile → Print Orders to see where your book is up to.
A problem with a printed book? Email support@preservedapp.com with the cookbook’s title and the order date, and we’ll help.
Free and Preserved Plus
Free starts your first cookbook:
keep up to 10 recipes and one cookbook
scan, import and edit your recipes
add your own photos
share, export PDFs and print at home
try three recipe photo previews and one cover preview
Preserved Plus adds:
room for every recipe and cookbook you want to keep
recipe photos and covers you can keep, for any dish
nutrition estimates for your recipes
About photo previews. Preserved can create a photo for a recipe, or a cover for your cookbook, inspired by what you’ve written. These are made with AI: they show how a dish might look, not a photo of your own cooking. Every account can try three recipe photo previews and one cover preview. They don’t reset, deleting a recipe doesn’t give one back, and a preview that fails doesn’t count. To keep a photo or cover (Use Photo or Use Cover), including one from your free previews, you’ll need Plus. Your own photos are always free.
About nutrition. With Plus, Preserved works out nutrition per serving from your ingredient list. It’s an estimate.
Plans. Preserved Plus is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. The yearly plan includes a free week for eligible customers. Prices and trial terms are shown in the app before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Restoring and managing Plus
Restore Purchases. If you already have Plus, for example on a new iPhone or after reinstalling, sign in to Preserved, then open Profile and tap Restore Purchases. You’ll also find Restore Purchases on the Preserved Plus screen. Use the same Apple Account you used to buy Plus. If you see “No active purchases were found for this Apple Account”, check which Apple Account your iPhone is signed in to.
Managing or cancelling Plus. With Plus, open Profile and tap Membership to go to your Apple subscriptions. You can also manage subscriptions in the Settings app on your iPhone, under your Apple Account. Apple handles subscription billing and refunds; you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your account
Open Profile → Your Details → Delete Account, and confirm.
Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days. After that, your account and everything in it, including your recipes, cookbooks and photos, is permanently deleted.
Changed your mind? Sign back in within 30 days and tap Cancel Deletion. Your recipes, cookbooks and photos are kept during those 30 days. Signing in by itself doesn’t cancel the deletion.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Plus subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple subscriptions (see Restoring and managing Plus).
Want a copy first? Share each cookbook as a PDF before you delete your account.
If the 30 days have passed and you think something is wrong, email support@preservedapp.com.
